I had hoped that version 3 would allow better sharing of information with others particularly those that do not have access to Family Historian. Whilst version 3 was an improvement it still seems impossible to view an FH chart without access to the actual fully functioning programme. I was hoping for something like the show version of Microsoft Powerpoint which allows the output to be run without needing a fully functioning version on the host computer. Would be possible to create a such a version of FH that would simply run on another computer but would not allow data entry etc?

Since version 2.3 (I think) you have been able to save diagrams as .tiff, .emf and bmp all of which can be used in powerpoint or simply sent in the same way as any other attachments. They can also be incorporated into the CD/web output from version 3, see the example output in the links section.
Just use the Save Diagram as option when the diagram you want to share is displayed.

Thanks I can save some of my diagrams that way but not the all of them because they exceed memeory capacity. It is not that I want to use powerpoint it is simply an example of this facility of being able to run output from the programme without having to have the fully functioning programme installed. I really like the FH diagrams and the ability to navigate around and I would like to be able to put this on a CD. At present I have to slim down the diagram until it can be saved in JPEG and then import it into a PDF format. If I save a FH diagram to the CD then it cannot be seen without FH being on the computer.

I have managed to make and post my website, but would now like to burn cds to send to family members.
I have tried following the instructions given in 'Create Website Wizard / Make CD Wizard', the last step of which is:
'If you have done everything correctly, the CD will have the following files only in its root folder:
· autorun.inf
· start.exe
· fh.ico
It will also have a folder called data which will contain numerous other files.'
When I have tried this, all my files appear in the root directory - no autorun.inf, start.exe, fh.ico or data folder.
It seems that I have just copied the files rather than burnt them. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Remember to call the Make CD option from the File Menu.
Once the folder is complete it should have an extra level containing the new files in the folder you requested.
Then you just copy all the files in the folder you specified to the CD
