Disappearing tree lines

Post by LMTester » 07 Nov 2003 10:10

When I save a descendent tree report in any of the file formats available the tree lines disappear. Can anything be done about this or is it something for the wish list?

Thanks
Louise

One way around the problem is to use PDF995 to create a PDF file, which you can send to people. It works very well and also supports pictures on reports.

You can buy a copy for $9.95 or simply work with IE offline to prevent it showing you ad's from the web. The site has all the details.

I will add a wish list item for improved export to RFT, I don't think the lines are a trivial request in HTML format.

Thanks Jane - I have now tried that from the web but it still converts a saved file from which the lines have already disappeared. Presumably even if I bought the pdf converter program it would still only work from a saved file?

No, what you do with PDF995 is to print to it direct from Family historian, you then get what you see when you print it in a PDF file.

Sorry Jane - now I've got pdf995 and I can see what you mean (I was on the Adobe site itself before) - however, the report has been reduced down to quarter size on the pdf page and I have tried everything I can to make it bigger and so has my husband (who is a technical architect and knows his way around PCs). What am I doing wrong? I've looked through what help there is on the program and on the web pages but can find no clues. Any ideas? I know this is not strictly FH but as you say you've got it to work I'm hoping you can help (again!).

Thanks in anticipation

Sorry Jane (again![rolleyes]) I rebooted the machine and whadyaknow? Everything is fine now!

So many thanks again for the pdf995 pointer - it's fantastic! [grin]
