I am about to obtain a new PC and wish to transfer all my family history data on Family Historian but do not want to connect the PC's directly. Can I simply copy the files/data onto a CD and load onto the new Pc?
many thanks

Yes, but make sure once transferred you check any linked multimedia has not broken connections. (Obviously you will need to copy the linked photos etc). This can happen when moving data especially if you change OS at the same time.
As not all My Documents folders are in the same place on machines.

I keep copies of the family history pictures that I want in any report in a sub folder of the folder that I keep my family historian information in: it takes a bit more room but as I transfer between laptop and pc it works. I use a usb pen memory for this, but sometimes use a cd and keep the cd as a future backup too.
