according to that FAQ entry I found out how to restore the lost data from gedcom import and it works ok for me, but ...
when it comes to diagrams I wanted to have an output such as
Weber (Webber) ... being first and alternative surnam
and
Jacob (Jakob) ... being first and alternative given name
So far so good I thought let's do it that way.
%INDI.NAME:SURNAME% (INDI.NAME[2]:SURNAME%)
%INDI.NAME:GIVEN_ALL% (%INDI.NAME[2]:GIVEN_ALL%)
Problem .. some only got an alternative surname, some only a given and some both of them. Which leads to the ugly fact that in case of only an alternative given name, it'll pop up in the form Jacob ()
The only strategy I found out which seems to work was using
%INDI.NAME:SURNAME% %INDI.NAME[2].SPFX% %INDI.NAME[2]:SURNAME%
%INDI.NAME:GIVEN_ALL% %INDI.NAME[2].NPFX% %INDI.NAME[2]:GIVEN_ALL%
and putting a '/' into the surname and given prefixes
leading to a display
Weber if only one name and
Weber / Webber if an alternative name is there
same for the given names
Perhaps someone can think of a faster and more easy way ? Since I dislike using the prefixes that for, since I might need them somewhat later for it's real purpose.
