Sorry, not strictly F.H.based, but I am at present working on website pages which, together with Data uploaded via F,H,v.3.will form my website.I use Front Page.In 'preview' I can zoom but when published this facility disappears. Can anyone suggest how I can overcome this? Would like it in order to identify individuals in group photographs, read old documents etc. Thanks, hopefully in anticipation.

I don't use FrontPage, but my guess is that the zooming is a feature of FrontPage. HTML doesn't support the concept of zooming. Some browsers have the option to re-scale images to fit the screen, but you can't rely on this. On the site I did for a friend, we decided to have the image just big enough so you could clearly read the text, but not so big that it became a chore to download.
Sites like ancestry and 1837online either have different images for the different zoom factors, or use a plugin that does the scaling.
Not the answer you were looking for, but hope this helps explain what's happening.

What you could do is to link the small version of the photo to a larger version so people can click on the small one to see a larger version.
I don't use frontpage so am unable to give detailed instructions to do it. Personally I tend to code pages directly in html which I find makes life much simpler in the long run.

Thanks for the suggestions. You are correct re - Provider Limitations.Picture loads large then shrinks.
Think I will stick to Front Page, believe in the the K.I.S.S.system. The only code I learned was Morse,50 yrs.ago!
I was hoping People would be able to recognise Ancestors from 1907 group photo.Simple answer is to e-mail and zoom via their own computer photo facilities.
NOT SO.....

Once your picture has loaded 'Large' then shrunk to fit the page, have you tried letting your mouse cursor hover over the top left or bottom right area of the picture? Top left sometimes pops up a little bar so that you can save, print, mail the picture - bottom right pops up a button which allows the picture to expand to original size.
Hope this works for you..
