Unable to load object.

Post by TimM » 13 Jan 2006 19:30

I have just had some large (A0) charts scanned as tiff files by a bureau. On inserting one of the files, I get the message “Unable to load object” in the windows pane where the picture should show. The other files were fine, but this one won’t load the picture, although it does create a multimedia record. I can open this file in several other applications I’ve got with no problem, but it won’t show the picture in FH!
I could convert it to a jpg file (which comes out at 8x the file size), but that still leaves me not knowing what the problem is!
I’m on FH v2.3
Any thoughts anyone?

The thread here http://www.fhug.org.uk/cgi-bin/index.cg ... ay&num=470
says tiff files with LZW compression can't be read by FH.  You may be able to save the file as a (larger) TIF without compression using a graphics package.
