Adding narrative notes

Any suggestions please?

My husband's family were prominent business men and 'public servants' in the 19th century and I have a lot of narrative information about their businesses and houses etc. and I'm not sure how best to store it so that it can be effectively regurgitated for report formats.
Much of the information refers to several individuals or 'a business'.
I could write it all in word and copy across to a source text, but then that would not come up in general reports. I could copy it to one huge note record and link it to individuals, but would I then just get it repeated for each linked individual on the narrative desendant report??
I'm reluctant to break the info down into lots of little linked notes/attributes/events as the 'story' becomes fragmented.

I'm new to FH, so any suggestions gratefully received.
PS. just posted this on the general format as well, in error....

I have deleted the second one for you.

A lot depends on how you want the notes to appear. Personally I tend to make a linked shared note, which I can then turn on/off when printing the reports, deplending on if I am printing lots of reports or just single person.
