Missing Data in Narrative Descendants Report

Post by iannf » 10 Nov 2005 08:37

In producing a narrative report showing descendants, my children are omitted from their correct generation. They are listed as children of myself and my wife in our generation, but don't appear as individuals in the next generation, where they belong. Their cousins appear correctly, both as children in Generation 1 and as individual in generation 2. I checked back through previous posts and found one similar enquiry; the suggested answer was that individuals will only appear in such reports if they themselves have descendents or if they have a photo assigned to them. The cousins, already mentioned, have neither of these yet they appear.

Can you confirm you have 2.3.5?

Try adding a photo or other multimedia to the children listed only with the parents. I am sure you will find if you check the cousins there is something forcing them to the next generation.

Many thanks for this, and you are quite right. It wasn't anything multimedia because the cousins didn't have photos either, but they DID each have a brief text note. When I enter a note against my children's record they now show as individuals in the correct generation.

I'm grateful Jane, thanks again.
