When I first started using FT and GEDCOM, I didn't realise the importance of putting the text in as well as linking to the census image. I want a report that will show me sources and the first line of Text from Source, so I can see which ones have no text in them. Can you point me in the right direction please

I would take the Standard Source Records All open it an save as Source records Actual Text, then simply add the Actual Text as a column.
If you wanted you could use exclude unless actual text is null to just list source records with no actual text.
