I've read the previous posts on here regarding ToDo lists, and using the existing list feature. However from what I can tell this just allows you to add individuals to a list and then add a note saying what the TODO is. This seems very complicated and error-prone.
What would be much better is to have a proper todo list that enabled you to enter some text as the todo, perhaps a location field (TNA, LRO, etc), and a link to one or more records. This would make it much easier to generate a list of tasks when visiting a Record Office etc.

ToDo list
I am not sure what you mean. I have a list per location to visit. Why do you think this is error prone?
You can have as many lists as you want, you can build queries based on the fact some one is in a list and use all the advanced tool of query to cross reference the information.
You can enter text against each person/record in the list as to what you want to do for that person in that list and print out a report detailing all that information.

I think the problem is that I don't fully understand how the lists work [frown]. I followed the HowTo (fab, by the way) but couldn't see how that helped me with what I wanted to do. It wasn't clear to me that I could add notes to list entries. Perhaps its time I went back and had another play with them [oops]

Here is a sample from my list.
You can see I have my Cert order list showing and the single person I have selected has the GRO references I need to order shown at the bottom.
Here is a copy of the List Report for this list

Thanks Jane. I'm slowly getting the hang of these lists [smile]. I'm just starting to learn the power and usefullness of them.
