template events and attributes

Apologies if this is a question that's been asked before. I'm a new user of Family Historian and the whole Geneology thing.

Is it possible to have some custom attributes that are added to individual records automatically every time a new record is created?

I'd like to put some attributes in that links back the volume and page number in the records office and attributes to show whether i have birth certificates etc. The idea being that i can create and run a query to show me all individuals for which i don't have birth critificates, that sort of thing.

And i thought, rather than create them manually every time i add an individual, i'd like to automate the process.

Cheers.

I add a Source to the birth event.  This source can include the Vol, page information.  When I obtain a certificate, I add the scanned document to the source.

This scheme allows generation of the queries you want without need for new custom events.

Jane has produced a 'How-to' for adding birth certificates as sources here http://www.fhug.org.uk/cgi-bin/index.cg ... howto&id=4
