I am trying to format my View All Relatives chart so that it doesn't take up so much space. In order to see it on the screen I have to zoom in so much that I can only see a very few relatives. There seems so much unneccesarily blank space, whatever number I put in the 'Number of Rows Per Generation' slot. What am I doing wrong: whatever I do doesn't seem to deal with the problem, increasing font size for example, or trying to reduce vertical distances. I just have to zoom in so much that I can't really see anything but a few records at a time.
Can anyone help - I am a new user!
Can anyone help??

Try adjusting the generations down, especially if you are using from 'each ancestor', I presume you have been using the zoom to adjust what your are seeing on the screen. You may also want to make sure for screen viewing you use a short text scheme and turn off pictures.

Thank you, Jane. I'm gradually learning! By the way, when I do a descendent outline, and I have for example one very long note on one person which I wish to omit, is there any way of doing this without making a copy of the file with that particular single note deleted?
Finally, I learned from another part of the forum about the downloadeable utility (see links) which allows you to save reports, etc. as .pdf files. This was also an answer to my prayers, as it means I can send the complete report now without lines and formatting missing, which is what seems to happen when you save as text, rich text and HTML. I'd recommend this to anyone. Also the freely downloadeable Gedmill, which produces web pages automatically. Again another recommendation from this forum. Thanks once more.
This is a really excellent product support service, by the way! Doubtless I will have some more questions before long.

The quickest way to omit the note is to make it private by putting [[ ]] around it and ticking the omit private notes button

Thanks! SO easy when you know. By the way, on a different matter, I would very much like to be able to make new sites out of part of my large site, so that I can send relevant GEDCOMs to different parts of the family. How I would really like to do it is to make a list of the records I do want and make a site out of them; but I think I've got to do it the other way round and select the records I don't want and then delete them - and I haven't found a select inverse button. Sigh. Or if I could make a 'list' and then order the contents of it to become a new site. It must be me in the wrong mind set. Can you see what I'm trying to do and advise accordingly.

I think you can do this using the split tree helper and a query just delete records not in the list. See the Split Tree How To for more help.
