I am new to the FH programme and to genealogy in general. Please can you tell me the best or standard way to show people who you know exist but who you currently don't know their First Name or maybe any of their name. Do I use a question mark for the name I don't know or leave it blank or what?
Thank you.

I'm not sure if this is the 'right' way but it works for me. If I don't know any of the name or other details I leave it out altogether. If I know either the first or the surname I'll put a ? for the missing info (leave a gap between the name you know and the ? and FH will treat it as a name) this then reminds me in the future to investigate this - if indeed it's a line I want to follow. Also if I have info of a doubtful or unchecked nature I'll put a ? in again e.g. if I'm not sure of a christian name I would enter ?Mark? Rolfe. Again this reminds me to check.
I hope this helps as I don't think there is a right or wrong way as long as you are consistent so it is easy for somebody else to understand it, if in doubt enter notes in the relevant personal record.
Best regards
