Changing File Locations

Post by Guest » 16 Apr 2005 10:49

I have recently added a large hard disk to my PC and want to move all my photos onto it. Can I easily change the file locations of all my linked images in Family Historian to point at the new location. I would hate to have to edit each record in turn.

Yes simply move the all photos to thier new location and then open up the Tools, Work with external files, and use the tool to exchange the directories to the new ones.

There is a little about the tool in

Many thanks.

I have changed my computer and the path to my data is changed. The file links are still showing the old path (marked with a cross as invalid of course), as well as the correct one for the new machine. Can I delete the reference to the old path all together?

Harvey, I would correct the bad one as well, I suspect a few of the files are still not linked to the right place.

I don't have any other program on my machine where I can get help so quickly and easily.
