Unable to read backup zip files

Post by Tombaston » 04 Mar 2005 07:27

I have recently been unable to open the zip files created by backup.  If I double click on them in Explorer I just get an empty folder although the zip file itself has a size of 80k.  This happens on two different PCs.  I have tried opening older backups which I know worked before and I get the same empty folder.  I can open other non FH created zip files ok

If I use restore from FH then it opens it fine so it looks like a Windows problem.  I am running WindowsXP SP1.  The problem started after I installed 2.3.5 but I also took some Windows security updates around the same time.  Has anyone seen this before or have any ideas?

Unable to read backup zip files

This seems to be a windows xp 'unzip' problem, I can open backup files fine using Winzip and other zip utilities but the Windows XP built in one does not open them, I think it could be a 'windows' fix introduced problem.

Thanks for the confirmation. By the way, what does the 'Bump' reply mean?

I had been reorganising the Wish List items on to the main wish list and this gets the forum posts out of order as newly moved ones go to the top of the forums.

So bump is . . .

move the posting to the top of the list, bump it up [wink]
