Exporting a Partial File

Post by rfj1001 » 20 Feb 2005 20:00

I've got about 600 records and want to extract those who are no longer likely to be alive so I can upload them onto the LDS website.

I understand the Split Tree Helper but my problem is I have a whole pile of information where the person is obviously no longer alive but there is no date information. (The only information I could possibly use is indirect and could include featuring in one of a number of censuses (71-01), is a descendant who is dead, etc.)

Does anyone have a good query or a suggestion as to how I might proceed.

TIA

Rob

There are a couple of queries which try to help with this in the Query store, try them first, also res Privita also in the store can delete all people it thinks are still alive. My starting point is to add all people with a null death date, exclude all people 'born' baptised before 1900, exclude all people with a child born baptised before 1900, exclude all people with a second census record.

By adding more and more to the exclude you can get a fair 'alive' list to delete, and any who are still in the query you know are dead simply add a death record with no date or place and a source linking to your source for assumming them dead.

I have done an additional query here Still Living which is the start for you.

What I would do is then to create a list from the query result deleting all the people I want included. Then do a quick query selecting all the people in my list to use with the split tree function. I posted instructions for this a couple of days ago.
