I have tried to add notes and photos to the Places attribute (useful where interesting info on a place applies to many people) but I cannot seem to achieve this without calling a Place a Source. In sources you can add multimedia etc which is then viewable in any person record (where the source is cited) without having to individually link each person to the note/photo - is there any way this can be done with Places ?

Places do not actually exist in the gedcom standard, the Place Lists are created from the gedcom file each time it is loaded. I would suggest sticking to the 'source' tack for now and should Calico support documentation against Places as a gedcom extension in the future it will be a probably be a fairly simple task to transfer linked notes to the Place.

Thanks Jane

I'll take your advice and create them as sources.

Its not a problem, I just moved it to remind me to add it to the wish list voting system.
