I would find it useful if it was possible to use 'by' when entering dates, e.g. Occupation: carpenter, date: by 1881.
I have a lot of information from census and certificates which does not give a start date and I don't really want to use the date of the event because it is misleading. I am currently using 'before' but that isn't quite right (and messes up the timeline!)
Would anyone else find this useful? Or is there some other way of getting round the problem?

I would find this really useful, too.
