Possessions

Post by jamesingram » 12 Feb 2005 14:20

I'm interested in tracing the ownership of possessions in my family tree but can't see how to enter possession data so I can track it simply.  I'd like to be able to enter the possession once and create links from it to all the owners.
My best guess to date is to create each possession as a multimedia item (maybe with a token jpeg as a dummy pic) and link owners to it.

Is this a good way forward or have I missed a trick ?

Thanks from a newbie.[grin]

Possessions

That sounds a good method to me, of course if the object is still around you could put in a 'real' picture of the item (or say a woodcut image of the sort of item) that way the pictures could be used in reports.

Alternately you could use a shared note attached to the possessions attribute.
