Marriage Records

I've done a search on Ancestry.co.uk for a marriage record that returns a page containing 3 people (instead of the usual 4). As such I'm not sure if it is the right record or not.
Is there any way to find out who the 4th person is without going ahead and buying the certificate (bearing in mind I know the year, volume and page)??

The fact there are only three suggests the other person has not been indexed yet. If you know the name of the 4th person (at least the one you hope it is), you could check by using GRO microfilm at your records library or via 1837online.

Take a look at both sets of BMD records on Ancestry and compare with FreeBMD, they are sometimes different.
The other thing that I find is that if there is an odd number of people when you do a search one of them may be a duplicate but mis-spelled. So your three may actually be two.

Do you realise this question was posted 2 and half years ago?! [grin] I suspect by now the marriage entry will have turned up on the ancestry version of FreeBMD and/or will also be in the Ancestry 'complete' GRO indexes! 1837online referred to by Jane has since become Findmypast.com
