Chart Printing as a presentation gift

Post by CR » 18 Jan 2005 18:10

Hi,

I am interested in trying to print off a chart showing two generations down and up from a source couple.
I want to produce a large (A3) good quality print that I can mount and frame prefferably with a parchment type background to make it look authentic and present as a gift to the source couple.
I have experimented with printing to PDF and copying to Paint Shop Pro but the results are less than perfect. The pictures don't come out well.
I guess my questions are.
1. Can it be done directly from FH?
2. Am I best copying into a graphics programe?
3. What size and resolution am I best using to scan my images in. The originals are various sizes but seem to come out badly even thoiugh they are reduced in size on the chart.
4. It would also be nice to produce a horizontal chart. Is this likely to be added in the near future?
5. Is there an idiot's guide anywhere that I can follow (being an idiot :-)

Thanks for any input.

Can your printer ( I presume you are using a printer shop) not handle a PDF file directly? All you should need to do is to configure PDF995 or EDocPrinter for a high DPI (say 600) and a paper size of A3 for best results.
