Cornish Tin miner emigrated to Australia and died

Hi,
I am trying to trace my paternal Grandfather Walter Reynolds (who I never knew). He was born in Cambourne, Cornwall in 1894. Married my Grandmother Lily Tippett in 1922.
My father was born in 1923. Sometime after this (fairly soon I believe) Walter emigrated to Australia where he died before my Grandmother and her son (my dad) could join him.
I have no other information i.e. When he sailed, where he sailed from/too, ship details, Where when or how he died.
I have tried 1837online but can't find his death and have looked at various shipping lists and Australian BMD sites but can find no trace of him either going to Australia or dying out there.
Does anyone have any ideas as to the best places to look. I would love to find out a bit more about him.
Regards
Clive

It might be worth also posting your Query over at Rootschat

The link will take you to the section for Emigrants to Austrailia. From reading around it looks as though most Cornish Miners moved to South Austrialia, to the Coppermines.

Two sites you may want to try:

http://www.minebydesign.co.uk/calstock/ ... grants.htm and

http://www.cornwall-online.co.uk/genealogy.htm

The first provides links to the various Cornish Associations in Australia and the second a link to a Cornish Mining Emigration Index.
