PDF error

Post by dg2000r » 21 Dec 2004 12:47

I've recently found that when I attach a PDF document as an OLE link, then try to open it by clicking on the icon in Family Historian it sometimes (but not always!) gives an error and wont open. However, if I keep trying it will generally work eventually.

Has anyone else come across this?

To honest I don't attach as ole, so have never seen the problem, I tend to just add a normal multimedia link and double click the Icon.

Coincidentally - I tried to attach a PDF file as a multimedia object in place of the same JPG image, but FH does not seem to recognise it.  Any ideas,

Jeremy

It should show an icon, in the media window. Clicking on it will launch Acrobat Reader.

Unless I am being thick, it does not work. The type is shown as 'unknown' whereas jpeg files are recognised as such. Jeremy

JPG files are displayed with in FH, PDF files are attached as media which has to be viewed in acrobat. Try attaching as Other Multimedia.
