Ive noticed that when you have Auto-citation enabled and you create a new record as a child or parent, at least two citations are created.
One is linked to: Individual/Name/Source,
The other is linke to: Individual/Source.
Why two?

presumably you have selected both a source to new persons and to new attributes.
The Name is an attribute, remember you can have more than one name for a given person.
Auto-citation creates 2 citations.

I've been rather confused by this, in particular the point of the 'whole record source'. I was entering details of a birth certificate, turned on auto source and then added someone's father. This gave two citations as described above. However, to my mind the birth certificate doesn't tell me that an individual has a father (which is how I interpreted the whole record source bit) - that's kind of obvious anyway - but does tell me what his name was.
On the other hand, if a census record throws up a (previously unknown) sibling then I suppose it is telling you of the existence of a new individual so a whole record source would be appropriate there.
I've had a search and can't see anything about sourcing whole records / names so would be very grateful if someone could clarify the difference ot point me to an article that does.
Thanks,
Dave
