Reinstalling FH

Post by Fuego » 05 Dec 2004 16:39

Hi, just had to re-install FH from fresh onto a new PC and I was wondering whether anyone knew where FH stored any customisations made to settings, such as columns added to record view, etc.

Would be nice if I could restore those from my old disk, if possible.

TIA

Are you on 2.3 of FH on your old machine. The 2.3 update moved things around.

If you confirm the versions, I can give you details. Some of the data is in the registry and some in the application data area on 2.3

I have the same task. I shall be transfering from version 2.3 to the same on the new machine. I intend to use the settings and files transfer - will that transfer the FH settings?

I think it will if not once all installed, copy the
documents and settings/application settings/calico folder and all sub folders to the new machine.

There are now very few settings in the registry if you need to move them use regedit to save the following sections
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECalico Pie
HKEY_USERSS-1-5-21-583907252-1644491937-725345543-1000SoftwareCalico Pie

The second one may have a different number so you may need to just search for Calico in the hkey_users section

copy the files to the new machine and double click it to update the registry.
