Amending wording of customised attributes

Post by gripp » 21 Nov 2004 12:35

I have created three customised attributes for 'Birth Certificate', 'Marriage Certificate' and 'Death Certificate' and insert a value of 'Y' to denote when I have found the certificates for a person. I would like to change the original wording to 'BC found?' etc, but cannot see how to change the original wording. I could create a new attribute, re-tag relevant records, and delete the old attribute, but would rather not do it this way

You can use a text editor to do a search and replace for the event.

If you use an editor like Textpad or PSPAD you can say
replace

2 TYPE BC Found
with
2 TYPE Birth Certificate
for example

As always make sure you have backed the file up first, and checked the results afterwards.

Thanks Jane - you've confirmed the line of attack I was going to take.
