There are some occasions when it is useful to put into your tree data which is not fully researched, or is believed to be accurate.
I would always rather mark this as tentative in some way, it would be useful to have this option within FH (quicker to get to than a custom attribute), and in particular to have it shown on the diagram.
I am sure that many inaccuracies in Family History begin with one person adding a tentative entry, and then others assuming that as it is there, it must be accurate!

indication of tentative data
I tend to use sources to show this. That way its easy to find them all. As you can add as many sources as you want to any event. In addition you have the Source Assement currently begining discussed on another thread.
You say quicker than a custom attribute, how would you want it to work?

indication of tentative data
Sources will work for this, but it is necessary to consciously choose to look for tentative at a particular point in time.
Ideally I would like a check box somewhere on the properties dialogue box which I could click to say that the information is tentative.
A text scheme in the diagram could then pick up on that selection and if checked, colour that person a different colour, or use a different dotted line to show the connection to the others.
I think that you would not assume that all the rest of that line are tentative (i.e. the line doesn't inherit the property of the earlier people) as it is quite possible to have a reference to a grandfather, but not to know which of the middle generation is the correct son to be the father.
This would allow you to:
a) visually see which areas need more work to confirm them
b) run a query to list those entries that need verification when next visiting a record centre etc.
