It would be lovely to have a method of identifying those in the database who didn't marry (no need to chase a spouse / children), or who didn't have children...
A simple check box would work well.
At the moment I give them a child with no sex identifier so that it appears in a different colour, and the child is either DM or DMNC, but it is clumsy and confuses those to whom I send the charts!

Why not just set up a custom attribute, rather than using valid fields.
You already have a Number of Children field, so all you need is a Never Married Attribute.

Jane,
actually this is a good idea, there is also a count of marriages option as well, so both could be used with a '0' entry which is better than a check box which only offers a binary option.
However, I still believe as per my other forum entry, that it would be useful to have a graphic indicator for these on the chart.
I would be grateful as a work around if you can think of any way in the diagram text scheme of detecting a '0' in these fields and:
a) putting a line of dashes below the blurb if the entry in the count of children is '0'
b) adding to the text 'never married' if the entry in the count of marriages is 0
regards
