Recording a graduation ceremony....how?

Hi, My grand-daughter graduates on Thursday and we cannot be at the ceremony but understand there will be a live broadcast over the internet on:
http://www.arts.ac.uk/student/awardcere ... streaming/
I'd love to record it and edit her part in the ceremony for storage on FH.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can do the recording please? Is specialist software needed for editing a video clip if I manage to get one?
I have Windows 7 in case that is relevant.
Many thanks

You will need to get some screen recording software.
Sorry I have no specific recommendations as to free ones I use Camtasia Studio but it is a bit expensive for a one-off like this requirement.

I Googled Colin's phrase 'screen recording software' and it came up with this
http://camstudio.org/ which is free.
However, I know very little about computers and even less about screen recording software so it may be completely rubbish.

It's not something I have tried, but you could try some of these suggestions.

I recommend trying them out today on the other college so you know how to do it.
Alternately purchasing the DVD and ripping the video from that may well be easier and allow you to watch the live feed with out worrying about recording it.

I use
CamStudio free software to record the screen-captured tutorials for the
Knowledge Base.
See
CamStudio Winff YouTube.
You should only need
CamStudio 2.0 and
Lossless Codec 1.4 free downloads (but NOT
WinFF).
Practice on some streamed video such as YouTube.
I have not used it but a Google search turned up the free
Video DownloadHelper for the
Firefox browser.
Windows Live Movie Maker is a free video editor.
You should be able to add the video file to FH in same way as any other Multimedia file.

It is almost certainly illegal to do this (which may not worry you!) and to be honest the results from capturing the stream are probably not going to be all that good.
I'd suggest you or another member of your family purchases the DVD which the page said will be available after the ceremony at
http://www.mygraduationfilm.com. Then it would be much easier to capture a section of the DVD (again probably illegally!).

Some excellent suggestions there ,not least of which is to buy the video! Many thanks for all your prompt replies and I'll have a bash at downloading software and doing some recording this afternoon.
