* Problem making donation to FHUG

Jane,

I tried to make a donation to FHUG using the link on the home page and ran into a problem.  By the way, the donation was long overdue and I really appreciate all that you and the users on the FHUG do for us users!

The problem is that I live in the US.  The form wouldn't let me make a donation unless I picked a county from the drop down list.  Unfortunately, the only counties listed are those for the UK!

I tried picking one of the UK counties thinking it wouldn't really matter, but then it complained that my city and country were wrong.

Is this something that you have control over so it can be corrected?  If not, is there some other way for us US users to make a donation?

It's a standard Paypal window so I am afraid I don't have any control over it.

If you could try it again and send me a screen grab by email I'll pass it to paypal to see if they can tell me how to get around it.

I have sent you an email with a screen print showing the problem.

In the meantime, is there any other way to make a donation?  It may take a long time (if ever) for PayPal to fix this.

If you have the email address that is linked to the fhug paypal account you can do something like 'send payment' to that email address. Your payment will pressumably be in $ and Jane will then be able to convert it to £ for a small fee.

Thanks for the idea. I didn't know how this would work so I went back out to the donation site to see how I might do what you suggested. While I was there I tried to use the form again and lo and behold it worked today. When putting in 'United States' as the country, the county field disappeared.

So... Jane, I was able to make a donation to the site. Let me know if you get it OK. Thanks for everything you do on this site and for making it available for all of us FH users.
