FH Versions in Wiki

Post by tatewise » 09 Oct 2012 11:59

Hi Jane,
The page http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id=how_to:about refers to several redundant FH Versions.
Also, following the links sometimes leads to broken download links, or downloads that differ from the FH Download Archive.

I was planning to update, merge, and revise as necessary, and change all download links to reference the FH Download Archive.

Should all the Upgrade FH .exe files be deleted from www.fhug.org.uk/programs/ and also www.fhug.org.uk/calico/upgrade_fh4_to_4.1.3.exe?

What do you think?

The calico folder, is a mirror for calico so they actually upload to there.

Tidying the programs folder is probably worth doing.

Feel free to tidy the about page, but it's worth holding the details for the last update for each version as there are a lot of users using older versions of FH.

I have updated About Family Historian and FHUG Downloads ~ Upgrade Files and all their linked pages.

Do you think Simon would allow the FH V4 User Manual - Getting the Most From FH 4 to be added to the FHUG Downloads ~ Upgrade Files??

This leaves the following redundant Wiki pages that could be deleted:
Version 3.1.1
Version 3.1
Version 2.2
Version 2.1
All their 'Features' have been merged into one of the two latest free upgrade pages.

Also all the www.fhug.org.uk/programs/upgrade ... .exe files could be deleted.
