When using the main FHUG search I find the instant expansion on hover makes it tricky to go through the results. You see one that looks promising, move the mouse towards it and if in doing so it goes over a result higher in the list that expands and your intended target is moved down. Go down to where your target now is and as the cursor leaves the expanded item your intended target shoots up above your cursor. All very frustrating!
I'm not a CSS programmer, but searching using Google I found transition-delay:1s;. If that could be done it would mean you'd have to stop over a result before it expanded which should make it much easier to navigate.

I also find this a bit bothersome and would love a way to delay or even disable the pop-ups.

I did try that one, but it does not work with display: so it will need a more radical redesign, perhaps having an icon to hover on to view the text rather than the whole line being a target.
