I have changed my email address in my FHUG profile, but I'm still receiving FHUG emails (e.g. "the week's active discussion topics in the FHUG Forums") on my old email address.

Why? Have I failed to update something somewhere?

Those emails are actually from the FHU mailing list, which is not the same thing as this FHUG. It's just that Jane has set things up so that a weekly summary of FHUG activity goes to the mailing list for general information.

You will need to unsubscribe using your old email address and re-subscribe with the new one.

Ah, thanks Lorna. Been away too long, forgotten most of this stuff.

Unfortunately, the email address I thought I'd registered with, and which I want to unsubscribe, doesn't seem to be the right one. I've tried unsubscribing with a range of likely candidates, none of which work. It'll be <something>@jamesfamily.vispa.com but I can't remember the <something> part.

I can't see my email address in the email, as it's 'buried' under a generic family-historian-users@rootsweb.com address.

I contacted the Rootsweb support team, but they just referred me back to the mailing list administrator That's Jane?

If the mail reader program you use allows you to view all of the message headers, you should be able to see what address the email was delivered to.
