how does one 'report a post' an offensive one has appeared overnight
in the General forum?

You can report the post by clicking on the icon which looks like a triangle with an ! symbol in it. The icon is in the upper right of the post you want to report.

You don't really need to report it as one of the moderators will delete the message as soon as they see it. I believe they are all in the UK so will probably see it and delete it tomorrow.

Many thanks, I was looking for the triangle but it was merged with the icon on my mobile; I see it now.
