Since I joined the forum recently I have been receiving unwanted Skype contact requests. As this site is the only one that I use this username on could you please tell me how secure your data storage is? and has it been compromised?

I regularly get unwanted Skype contact requests and my username there isn't used anywhere else at all.... I assume somebody is using one of the tools you can buy on the 'dark net' to harvest Skype user names.

If you google for your username in here it finds a few hits for that name, including in Rootschat and Fold3 (a family history website somehow connected to Ancestry).

Also if I do a search for your username in Skype, it does find someone (I won't give the real name it finds, and I don't know if that's you of course).

So your username here isn't as unique as you may think!

Thanks all - I will have to find a new username as I try to keep my internet exposure down to a minimum - I don't trust it at all

May I suggest that is far more important to make your passwords strong and different for each account. Having the same username for different accounts is less important.
