Christmas is Coming

I have put the lights up in the forum, please try not to smash them

I fell off the chair a couple of times trying to put them up, so if you got an error accessing the site earlier I am afraid it was me

Just would also just like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thanks to everyone who has posted questions and answered them here during the last 12 months, it's the activity here which provides me with the enthusiasm to keep minding the site.

Special thanks to Mike Tate for his unstinting work both here and on the mailing list helping people get more from Family Historian.

Jane,

I want to thank you for all the tireless work you do for the FHUG including maintaining the site and all your work on plugins and helping people with their questions and problems. We are all grateful for all you do. Don't know what we'd do without you.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a great 2014!

The same for you Mike. Don't know what we'd do without you also.

Merry Christmas

Bill

Well said, Bill. I am sure we are all grateful to Jane for keeping this site up and running and sharing with us her extensive knowledge of this wonderful software.

Thanks too to Mike whose patience and perseverance are awesome!

Not forgetting everyone who has contributed their knowledge to this forum and made it, surely, one of the best forums of its type.

Hear, Hear! A big thank you from me too!

Whenever I recommend FH to anyone, FHUG is one of the reasons I cite as advantages of using the prog.

I agree with all of the above.
The only other group I am in that comes anywhere close to the level of help supplied here is for "Mozart" music notation software. Except that is run by the developer himself (Actually now a husband and wife Team).

I look forward to 2014 and the demolishing of a lot more "Brick Walls"

I'd also like to say thanks to Jane for all her hard work with the site. We are so fortunate to have her doing this voluntarily. The effort must sometimes be exhausting.

To Jane herself, I'm looking forward to meeting you at Parramatta, Australia in February (I'm booked in but some medical treatments I'm having may prevent me attending - hope not).

Mike, as said by gerrynuk, where do you get the patience? The number of times you answer the same question is extraordinary. :!: Thankyou also for your time and lucid explanations.

As it Christmas so I must be off, I have a whole host of dishes to prepare and a Christmas Cake to decorate.

I also agree with all the above.

I would also like to pass on my thanks in particular for all the help I have received from Jane and Mike, and other users. As a fairly new user to FH5 I was stuck on a few occasions and the help received was both quick and detailed, this forum and it's users are exceptional in the way in which they try their utmost to help us all, something which is very rare elsewhere on other forums I have used.

May I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Brian
