I have Version 3.1.2 installed on my (XP) PC.
I wish to retain this untouched - but to install V4 (of which I have a full retail copy) preparatory to upgrading to V5.
But ... when trying to install V4, its opening installation message insists on overwriting my V3.1.2 rather than do a separate installation - offering me only 'Yes' to overwrite or cancel the installation. How can I install V4 separately?

Installing V4
You can't, at least not with out a sandbox or virtual machine.
Why are you trying to do it? V4 will upgrade all your settings from V3.

Installing V4
The simple answer is you cannot do that.
The only alternative is to download and install the special free Read Only Version of Family Historian 3.0.1 from http://www.family-historian.co.uk/downloads.
It is not V3.1.2, so lacks some features, and also has some restrictions on use.
However, it will install alongside any other fully licensed FH V3 or FH V4 or FH V5.
As Jane asks ~ What are you trying to achieve?
Also you do not actually have to install FH V4 in order to install FH V5.
You only need the Licence Registration Key for both products.
