How to delete multiple entires.

Post by ChetN » 17 Feb 2012 21:28

I need to delete a large number of entries. It turned out that I was tracking the wrong set of parents and loaded from several GEDCOM files, thanks to some misguided relatives.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Have a look at File > Split Tree Helper and File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File.

They both allow you to select Individuals to be retained/deleted in the output GEDCOM file.

BUT BEWARE

Ensure you only work on a copy of your data initially until satisfied you have a successful outcome.

Split Tree Helper is more rich with features but more difficult to learn.

Export > GEDCOM File is easier to use but the Exported GEDCOM file Excludes more than expected.
If you can wait for FH V5 this problem is believed to be fixed.

Thanks Tatewise,

I will wait for V5 as you suggest. Hopefully it will have the function I need.
