Good news! Has anyone seen any reference to an online upgrade download? TWR just refers to the CD upgrade.

I've ordered mine from TWR, I've gone for the full version this time as re-installing after upgrading through each version since 2 last time I had to rebuild my PC and re-install was a bit of a faf so I thought I'd 'splash out' this time on the full version. Lookig forward to getting it, what do the Beta testers think are the highlights?

In preparation for a download of the upgrade - and perhaps to help others - what do I need? Currently running v4.1.3; I have the CD and registration key for v3 and I believe I got to v4 by download. Is that sufficient for me to buy the download upgrade to v5?

You can buy and download the FH V5.0 Upgrade and then install it over the existing FH V4.1.3.
If you need to reinstall FH from scratch on a new PC, or after a Windows reinstall following a major failure, then you need:

With an upgrade, can you not go straight from any full version, be it vers 2, 3 or 4, to ver 5. Thus bypssing multiple installs.
After all, I know there are some out there still on vers 3 (or 2 for that matter). If they buy a vers 5 upgrade package, they don't need to have vers 4 ( or 3 & 4), just a valid FULL license.

I don't think that is the case, John. The FULL version will install over any previous version, but the UPGRADE versions only do a single step, from the previous version (i.e. from V4 to V5, but not from V3 to V5). This is what Simon said in a post on the FH mailing list a few weeks ago:
'We do sell upgrade products, but these are only for people who are wanting to do a 'single-step' upgrade from the previous version to the current version (e.g. we now offer a v3 to v4 upgrade, and shortly we will have upgrades available
from v4 to v5), and the only advantage they have is that - for single step upgrades only - they're cheaper.
If you are wanting to upgrade more than one step (e.g. from v2 to v5) you should buy the full version of v5 when it's out.'

Sorry John, but that's not correct. Lorna & Tatewise have it right, you need to upgrade to the major version in between or buy a full install. You do not need to upgrade minor versions, ie 3.0 to 3.1 or 4.0 to 4.1.3.
Sihick, please make sure you have access to the licence key for v4 upgrade. It will be on email and won't be in any file anywhere and it's not in FH itself. Without that key, you will not be able to upgrade to v5. You might be lucky and Calico Pie can check their records for you and resupply it, but with a new version due out/ just out, you may have to wait a while.

Probably should have clarified that, you don't need v4 key to install v5 upgrade if you have v4 currently running, only if you need to reinstall totally in case of PC failure/new PC.

Everything Lorna and Merenwen say is correct.
Just for clarification, and as it says in See How to Re-install Family Historian, quote:
The Licence Name may be the same for each FH Version, but not necessarily.
The Registration Key is always different for each FH Version.
Just for clarification, and as it says in See How to Re-install Family Historian, quote:
So you need two pieces of licence information to re-install each FH Version. The Licence Name is often your name, and the Registration Key is several groups of 6 alpha-numeric characters such as 0001H2-VKQ2AZ-TP4MC5-V0B59C-PYF6EN-7BUZ0Y.
