It would probably be appropriate to use a Query to select records for individuals who are related to your father, which could include his spouse (or spouses) but not individuals related to the spouse(s).
You don't say exactly what you are planning to share with your cousin. It could be a subset of your GEDCOM file and that could be accompanied by linked multimedia records. This of course would require your cousin to have his own copy of FH or equally capable software. Another possibility could be a Family-Tree CD/DVD. FH5 has a few features which simplify these operations and FH5 Plugins can enhance the results in some cases.

Can you clarify what you mean by 'paternal line only'?
Do you mean just your father, his father, and his father, etc?
i.e. your father, your paternal grandfather, your paternal grandfather's father, etc.
Also, as Peter says, what do you want to share?
i.e. GEDCOM only, or linked Multimedia too, just a Diagram, or webpage/CD/DVD.
Does your cousin have a copy of Family Historian, and if so which Version?

Hi Peter & Tatewise, Thank you for you reply, I want to share all my fathers line far back as I have got , my cousin mother and my father were siblings so I am sharing notes and everything I have for them.
Don't think my cousin will have family history sofetware he just started doing it the research, so perhaps a cd like you say will be better.
I will try with a query first, the try a cd also.
Appreciate your help.
Thank you[smile]

OK, the
Query you need to select all your Father's ancestors is the
Standard Query called
Ancestors with your Father chosen as the Starting Person.
Perhaps you could give your cousin a copy of
Family Historian for Christmas, only £36 from
Calico Pie.
Then you can work together on your family history using the same software.

Thank you again Tatewise I will try that query later this evening.
I will suggest Family Historian for my cousin to put on the Christmas wish list. Think I should put Getting the most fron Family Historian Book on my list also. [smile]
