Diagram settings help please

Hi all,
Using V 4.1.3.
Having fairly successfully migrated my data to a new hard drive, including copying all the settings to the ProgramData/CalicoPie/FamilyHistorian file, I now appear to have all my flags and pictures showing as they should but my diagrams are not and I have forgotten how to get these settings back again.

In the Diagram Options I remember under Boxes I had many different schemes, each with either coloured boxes or lines around the boxes. Can you please help me get my new diagram settings to recognise the correct settings - actually which settings should it be looking for anyway?

Thanks in anticipation.

The following page in the FH Knowledge Base may help: Move Family Historian Settings & Projects

Pay particular attention to the Diagram Settings section that explains that these settings are stored in the Windows Registry.

If you still have access to the old disk and you are comfortable with editing the Windows Registry then it may be possible to recover these settings.

Thank you both, I will investigate that page and keep my fingers crossed. Sorry although I have the old disc I would need to get some complicated form of wiring to access it from a current machine. [wink]

Anyone else following this thread should beware migrating FH from disk to disk, PC to PC, or changing its installation in any way.

The Knowledge Base articles Move Family Historian Settings & Projects and Understanding the Scope of Features explain the complex nature of the FH settings and preferences.

Check here BEFORE attempting the FH migration, to ensure you understand how to migrate all your settings, rather than discover afterwards that they are irrecoverable.

FH V5 has a Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings Plugin that simplifies the task.

If fact migrating any software program from disk to disk, or PC to PC, may have similar problems with preferences and settings, so make a note of your set-up beforehand.
