Where is the best place to add a Citation to a Source that demonstrate a parents-child relationship ?
Typically a source like 'John Smith son of Bill and Mary'.
The field should be a good place: it accepts Notes, and Sources to the Notes... but it doesn't accept a simple Source citation!

There are a number of places to add that sort of Citation.

Obviously you would add it to the or Name field of the Individual child John Smith.

Similarly you could add it to the of the Family for the parents Bill and Mary.
Although this Source Citation does not seem to appear in any Reports.

Alternatively, add it to the or Name field of both Individual parents Bill and Mary.

This is what I was looking for.

My mistake in Individual > Properties... > All :
I was right-clicking on  Parents family  instead of  [X] ...of Bill and Mary

Although this Source Citation does not seem to appear in any Reports.
...It's a source citation in particular style [confused]

Other possible solutions?

...It's a source citation in particular style.
I don't think it is anything to do with its style. There simply seems to be no option to include it in any Report except Publish > Record Detail Reports > Record Detail - Families for Bill and Mary.
Other possible solutions?
As I said, add it to the or Name field of the Individual Records for both parents Bill and Mary separately.

Alternatively, create a Custom Family Attribute Fact such as Relationship that can be added to the Family Record of Bill and Mary, then the Citation can be linked to that Fact.
This Relationship Fact and Citation will appear in all Reports.
