Merging files
I have downloaded my family tree from Ancestry. I ran validation on it and found no errors. I then checked my current file on Family Historian and again found no errors.I then ran Merge/Compare and the individual records were fine but on family records the run stopped saying a problem had occured ?I am not sure how to proceed where do I start looking for the error? Can anyone help ?? [confused]

Not seen any problems reported.
Do you re-save your ancestry tree after you validated it?
If not try that. If you still get an error I would suggest sending both files to support at family-historian.co.uk, as it's a bank holiday weekend I suspect it will be a few days before you get a reply.

Merging files
Hi Jane Thanks for the prompt response. I have tried as you suggested saving both files before merging but still receiving the error message. Should I send them for the attention of a specific person? I think I will have to Zip them as there are over 5000 individuals in each file otherwise they may not send? Any advice would be appreciated ! [confused]

No support at family historian will get them to the right place. Zipping should be fine.

Thanks Peter, Yes I found it and sent the files to them. They came back to say that they were having the same problem but when they tried it on an upgrade it was successful so I'm waiting for the release of the upgrade ! [smile]
