It would be nice if there was a thumbnail displayed in the corner of the window that gave an indication of where the current view is within the whole diagram. The thumbnail would display the whole diagram currently being viewed at a very small zoom factor with an overlay to show where in the digram the current view is. This would make viewing large diagrams a bit easier as it would stop the user getting lost in the diagram. See Google Earth or AboutMyPlace to see how they use it when navigating maps.

Yes, that's a good idea. I frequently have to zoom out and then back in on diagrams after getting a bit lost. If this was to be implemented, it would also be nice if it were possible to actually navigate using the icon (by moving the overlaid little 'box'). Again, check Google Maps for an example).
