Around this time of year I printout a monthly Calendar for my immediate Family on A3 paper that allows me to see at a glance relatives birthdays and anniversaries as they occur throughout the year.   Being on A3 it allows plenty of space for appointments to be added by hand as the days progress.
I have to use Family Tree Maker for this at present which makes a pretty fair effort at it but I would like to be able to add friends as well and perhaps delete or amend items from the calendar before I print it and back the sheets with cardboard to hang on the wall for each immediate family member.   I find FTM to be rather inflexible in this regard.
I do realise that it would mean an awful lot of extra work but feel it would be a good adjunct for the program.   I would like to add this feature to my own particular wish list.

Interesting idea but isn't this stretching the requirements for genealogy software a bit?  Rather than use FH as a birthday/appointment manager (do you really  want FH to store “appointments” as “the days progress” for example) can't you use a contact manager or simply create a perpetual calendar in your favorite word-processor and maintain your information there and print it that way?  With a little time spent on the format/layout you create create a simple document that you wouldn't have to maintain too much (birthdays don't change) and it would satisfy your desire to print copies for your immediate family.

Perhaps a query could be created to extract the relevant data from FH and save it in a format that can be imported into the calendars in MS Outlook - you can view & print off monthly calendars in Outlook.
