Marriage entry by selecting two individuals

Post by JonAxtell » 20 Mar 2009 16:58

To be able to create a family by selecting two individuals in the record window and making them the husband and wife in a marriage. When two individuals are selected, the edit menu should have an option to create a family record. It would also be nice if the right click context menu would also have this as an option when two people are selected.

I would certainly vote for this. I wonder if the functionality could be extended to allow the definition of a 2-way Association?

Yes, Peter, I agree Jon's idea is a good one. With a bit of thought there are probably lots of different productivity aids we could dream up for diagram-based editing (which is 90% of my activity).

Let's all agree that V4 was Simon's super response to the needs of form-based editing, and that V5 will stun us with diagram-based editing (DBE?) enhancements galore!!!

Maybe someone (not me, guv) should review all the suggestions for DBE and come up with a coherent package that sweeps up most of our ideas?

Paul
