I would like to see just the bad links really. Either a 'broken links only' option or a filter.

I would vote for this suggestion.
A very useful ancillary to this would be a new Function to complement the IsEmbedded Function:
Function Name: IsFileLinked
Description: Takes a Multimedia Object as parameter and returns TRUE if the object file is specified and exists.
No. of Parameters: 1
Return Type: Boolean (True or False).
Parameter 1: A reference to a Multimedia Object
Examples: =IsFileLinked(%OBJE%)
This would be useful in a Multimedia Query or a Multimedia Record Window Column to identify existing/broken file links.

As long as we can have the simple solution as well - for dummies like me [oops]

An interim aid to managing broken external file links is now available from the
FHUG Downloads at:
http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id ... afilelinks
This provides a simple
Multimedia Query and a semi-automated
Spreadsheet for both
MS Office Excel and
OpenOffice Calc.
It currently caters for about 2,000 media files, but can easily be extended, by copying the expression in column
A into more rows.
