Adding Individuals

When adding individuals and clicking on the 'Link Existing Person...' it would be helpful if the cursor was already in the 'Find (surname...)' box in the 'Select Individuals' window when it opened. As a name is typed it would also be helpful if the name is highlighted in the 'Individual Records' list meaning you could use the up/down arrow to get to the right person and just press 'Enter' to select the individual. If no match is found, the 'Esc' key would be useful if it were enabled to exit  the window. This would save a lot of moving between keys and mouse.

You can do much of this from the keyboard already.
Ctrl+D will move focus to the Find box.
Tab then toggles between Find and Record Id.
As you enter a Name the first Individual that matches has a light-grey highlight.
F3 will step down through any other Name that matches.
(You do then have to use the mouse to select and click OK)
Alt+F4 is the standard Windows shortcut to Close the window.

After spending a day entering Citations and selecting sources, (not currently available through AS) I thought there's gotta be an easier way and I'll add it to the wish list.

I read Jane's 'search first' request and found a response to adding individuals - works a treat.

Not sure what you mean by that? Recording method 2 allows you to select sources and of course all methods create citations.

I do not think this needs to be added to this wish list - Mike has answered the points I believe.

Please move this from the requests forum
