What I would like to be able to do is to select a word or words ideally in a diagram, (but this could be in any of the windows) and change the colour and/or font in a similar way to doing this in MS Word.

I don't think it is possible apart, possibly, on an all or nothing basis. I'll probably be corrected mind.

There are a number of Wish List requests asking for better text manipulation in various places.

Take a look at the list (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... n_US#gid=0) and if you don't see one that is similar to what you want ask for one to be raised.

I suggest this is removed from the requests forum as a duplicate please Jane.
