Hello,
It would be nice if there was an option to generate PDF reports with hyperlinks so that it is possible to just click on names etc rather than having to manually flick through to the relevant page etc.

If you create a Website or CD/DVD and then run Mike Tate's plugin Improve Website or CD DVD HTML, that does what you are after, obviously not as quick, and no way to link back to the FH program.
I agree what you suggest would be nice, especially if you could then also click to see their Property Box. I suspect that would be a major enhancement for Calico Pie, but worth a suggestion to them. The existing reports are very good in that if you make changes to the database they are mostly updated real time in reports. I was amazed the first time I noticed the real time updates for reports, and most other things,

I guess what I mean is, for example, if you find a name in the report Index for a person, then rather than having to find the page with the individual on, you can just click on the name in the Index to be taken the relevant page. There is software that already does this, but I'm trying to generate as much within Family Historian as I'm able to

Not sure if you could generate a pdf from the plugin Improve Website or CD DVD HTML output, might look a mess!
The software you mention sounds interesting, when you have your solution, please share it.

Thanks, I've tried the 'Improve Website or CD DVD HTML' plugin for my websites but not thought about using it on a report
Thanks, although I think Calico Pie will have more chance of finding a solution than me developing one

I have realised that it is possible to create a
PDF Report with
Hyperlinks already, at least for the
Table of Contents.
It is mentioned in how_to:report_content_multimedia_format_layout|> Report Content, Media, Format and Layout that cross-refers to
NARRATIVE REPORT FOR "ALL RELATIVES" (12457) posted on Sun Mar 22, 2015 6:27 pm.
The method is to
Save Report As > Word-Processor Document (.rtf) then use
MS Word to insert a
Table of Contents and
Save As PDF which retains the
Table of Contents hyperlinks.
